Regrettably we have made the decision to cancel the planned walk at Mt Margaret this month & replace it with the contingency walk at Yarra Flats. There is insufficient (no?) snow at Mt Margaret to make the trip worthwhile. Most annoyingly, there is a good dump of snow forecast to arrive late Sunday afternoon. Always the way...Murphy's Law applies again!
A change in the format for August - if we get a good snowfall at Mt Margaret on an earlier weekend that the 15th August, we will call anybody who has pre-registered in advance & bring the walk forward to that weekend. So please be prepared to be flexible, we can't arrange for snow on a particular weekend but we can take advantage of the opportunity while it's there!

Contingency walk at Yarra Flats (Heidelberg):A walk along the Yarra at Heidelberg. Melway Map 32 C6. There is plenty of shade from the many graceful trees that grow along the flats of the river. Nice pram-friendly paths and picturesque views. Bring a picnic lunch. |

Could all members planning on attending walks please put the co-ordinator's mobile phone number into their own phones in case they get lost on the way to the meeting point, or find that they are in the wrong place altogether! If it is close to the meeting time and you can't find us then just call for help! We are happy to wait until you arrive if you let us know.
