Mt Margaret Snow Walk

Important note about this walk

The snow walk is confirmed & will take place this coming Sunday 17th August

SNOW CHAINS ARE MANDATORY FOR NON-4WD VEHICLES. LAST YEAR WE HAD TO
RESCUE SEVERAL CARS WHOSE DRIVERS THOUGHT THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE
ON A SNOW-COVERED DIRT ROAD AND WERE QUICKLY PROVEN WRONG.

Where are we going?

This walk will be held at Mt Margaret near Marysville. Melways Map 610 Ref. T11.

Contingency walk

In the event of insufficient snow at Mt Margaret, the walk will be replaced by the following contingency event:

Contingency walk at Yarra Bend Park:

This walk will only proceed if there is insufficient snow at Mt Margaret (see above), or if the July snow walk is successful.

Meet at the Boathouse car park, Melway Ref 44 H4 – you can approach either from Yarra Bvd, or park in Yarra Bend Rd & walk across the footbridge.

Nice pram-friendly paths and picturesque views. Bring a picnic lunch, or you can buy food at the Boathouse café.

Could all members planning on attending walks please put my mobile phone number into their own phones in case they get lost on the way to the meeting point, or find that they are in the wrong place altogether! If it is close to the meeting time and you can't find me then just call for help! We are happy to wait until you arrive if you let us know.
